Would the world hear of the Saviour of sinners? "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ stead,be ye reconciled to God". (2 Cor. 5:20) Would I be doing good unto all men? "...let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith". (Gal. 6:10). Would I be living in the power of an ungrieved Holy Spirit? "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption". (Eph. 4:30). Would each Lord's day find me remembering our Lord Jesus in accordance with His own request? "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where theives do not break through nor steal". (Matt. 6:20). Would I be ashamed before Him at His coming if He were to come today? "And now, little children, abide in him; that, when He shall, appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming". (1 John 2:28). Would I always be ready to give a reason of the hope that is within me? "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear". (1 Peter 3:16). Would the gift God has given me be fully exercised for the upbuilding of the Body of Christ? "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil". (Heb.5:12-14) Would the motive in my service for God be for my glory or His? "Whether therefore ye eat ,or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God". (1 Cor.10:31). Would I be fruitful in eveery good work? "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God". (Col. 1:10). Would I be growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen". (2 Peter 3:18) Would I be giving to the Lord as He has prospered me? "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gathering when I come". (1 Cor. 16:2). David prayed; "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts." (Psalm 139:23). Paul wrote: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad". (2 Cor.5:10). "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord".
